Mini donkeys, goats & dachshunds living their best rowdy little lives — plus a traveling bar burro who'd love to crash your wedding.
This story starts with a little girl who lived on the lake and longed for farm animals. She'd load her wheelbarrow with her own toys and sell them to the neighbors at the mailboxes, just trying to save up enough for a horse. Her dad always told her, "When you get older and have your own house, you can have as many animals as you want."
That little girl grew up, bought her house, started a family — and added every animal she'd ever wanted. A few she didn't, too. I'm Maggie, and I'm that little girl. I've got three kids and a very patient husband. My middle son's name is Rowdy, and with all the crazy, chaotic fun that happens around here, the name just fit.
Every animal on the ridge is bottle-raised on affection and mildly poor decision-making.
Sweet, sturdy, and endlessly opinionated. Our mini donkeys are bred for gentle temperaments and make wonderful companions or first farm animals.

Nimble, curious, and always three steps ahead of the fence line. Raised for rich, sweet dairy milk and sold as bottle babies with sweet, people-loving temperaments.
Kidding Season: Spring
This program started with one very special dapple boy named Beau. Farm-raised, well socialized, and full of the same big-hearted spirit that started it all.

Small in stature, big in personality. Our mini horses are gentle, easy to handle, and a favorite with kids visiting the herd.
2 On the Ridge
Curious, quiet, and endlessly photogenic. Our small alpaca herd rounds out the ridge with their soft fleece and gentle nature.
5 On the Ridge
Our jennies and jacks are handled daily from the day they're born, so every foal grows up gentle, curious, and completely unbothered by kids, noise, or new faces. Coloring runs the full range — from soft dapples to classic grullo — which means no two foals look quite alike.

Our Nigerian Dwarf herd is raised for rich, sweet dairy milk and sweet personalities to match. Kids are dam-raised alongside daily handling, so they grow up comfortable with people from day one — perfect for a family homestead, a first dairy goat, or just a very good-natured pet.

After college, I moved to California — and it was lonely. I'd had dachshund pups growing up, and something in me needed that back, so I bought Beau: a beautiful dapple boy with more heart than any dog I'd ever known.
He became my best friend. His lively little spirit is the whole reason we started breeding mini dachshunds here at Rowdy Ridge — we wanted to connect other people with this wonderful breed, the same way Beau connected with me.
